Studies have shown that small quantities of negative ions can quickly kill bacteria in the air. Negative ions are found in huge quantities in vicinities of natural settings like the forest and waterfall, and the quantities of these ions drop drastically in the presence of electrical equipment, like TV sets, computers and microwave ovens. Electrical equipment produce positive ions, which are known as "fatigue" ions, because they have harmful effects on the body. So the salt lamp is kind of like a natural ionizer that can be used to freshen up the air in the room. Imagine your room smelling like the rainforest or fresh after a thunderstorm! Some common areas where people put their salt lamps would be next to a computer, or other electrical equipment to "neutralize" the positive ions. Putting one at your bed side table could do wonders to improve your sleep quality.
A standard incandescent 15W light bulb generates 122 lumens, or 8 lm/W. A CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulb of almost the same lumen capacity (125 lm) requires only 3 watts of energy, producing 42 lm/W. A metal halide light bulb is even more energy efficient, with some halide bulbs generating as much as 115 lm/W. Light bulb energy usage is imperative when considering how much illuminance is required for a room versus how many lighting fixtures are possible. Furthermore, as wattage is increased, so is electrical resistance, as illustrated by the Ohm's Law derivation R= P/I2 (where R= resistance (Ohms), P= power (Watts), and I= current (amperes)). When calculating the amount of lighting required for very large rooms, therefore, or rooms with high ceilings, these basic physical laws must be accounted for.
Chandeliers are popular lighting fixtures and the popularity of these lamps can be gauged from the availability of these lamps in all furniture and home decoration stores. A crystal chandelier empire can be used anywhere in home provided it suits to the interior decoration. Or it can be the only lamp lighting the room.
Himalayan Salt contains 84 minerals and is said to be the most pollutant free form of Salt on Earth. When shopping for look for those that are deeper red in color, they have a higher mineral content. These Salt crystals come from the deepest mines on Earth and are hand-picked from mineral deposits on the Salt Cave floors. Himalayan Salt is said to help such conditions as, sinus, high acidity, kidneys, poor muscle tone, high blood sugar and irregular heart beats. Allergy sufferers are said to benefit from breathing this naturally ionized air.
